Bangladesh has a formal regulatory framework under the Ship Recycling Act 2018, and BSRB oversees ship-recycling facilities and Ship Recycling Plans. Since 26 June 2025, the Department of Shipping guidance also requires a Ready for Recycling Certificate (RfRC) for ships going for recycling, subject to the applicable authorization arrangements.
